A man puts his boy first every second when he wakes.
That's why he is eating microwave dinners, while his son eats steak.
The man just wants him not to make the same mistakes,
Doesn't want him to go through the same heart-ache.
Of a wife who threw him out, left him with just the shoes on his feet.
Now he is breaking his back just trying to make ends meet.
Never let his boy know there were problems in his life.
Or how every night he would cry while thinking of his ex-wife.
Were just taking a break he would ensure the little man.
Meanwhile the down whirl spiral of his life had already began.
The boy grew up, he is seventeen now.
He never sees his dad, as a tear forms under his brow.
Everything he does is for his father, day by day, week to week.
As the tear slowly runs down his cheek.
The tears soak into the keyboard now.
As he is just trying to make this man proud.
A man that he loves with all his heart.
But a man that never comes around.
